Abstract:

An external impact on the teeth, palate, mandible, maxilla, and gingiva results in dentoalveolar trauma injuries. These wounds can cause anything from a simple contusion on the tooth to a complete removal of the tooth from its socket known as tooth avulsion. Teeth avulsion often requires a substantial amount of force, and further damage to neighbouring structures should be suspected. This review goes over the risk factors, storage media, and treatment of dental avulsions and emphasises the need of providing prevention appliances to patients who are prone to dental injuries.
